Fan-madeFallout 4mod,Fallout: London, is officially coming to GOG “when it’s ready,” but Team FOLON says it’s “tempted” to release the pre-next-gen update version already based on community feedback.
After being in development for five years, Team FOLON was gearing up to release Fallout: London earlier this year. April 23rd, to be exact. The team, which has no affiliation with Bethesda, was thrown a curveball just a few weeks before the mod’s anticipated release when Bethesda announced the release of a next-gen update for Fallout 4, the base game for which Fallout: London operates on.

Fallout: London Mod Team Might Be Making A Full Game Next
Is another modder-turned-developer success story brewing?
Fallout 4’s official next-gen update was set to go live just 2 days after the release of Fallout: London, which Team FOLON says would have completely broken the mod and simply made it unusable.

In anupdate video, Project Lead Dean Carter said the studio wanted Fallout: London to be as close to a real game release as possible, which meant its launch was delayed indefinitely until the team could fix all of the issues that were caused by Fallout 4’s massive update. But now, in a new interview withThe Gamer, Carter says he is open to releasing the previous version of the mod due to fan feedback.
Fallout: London Creator Is Open To Releasing Pre-Next-Gen Update Version
Fallout: London still doesn’t have a firm release date, but we do know that it will be coming to GOG due to its massive file size. With the mod somewhere between the 30-40GB range, popular modding site Nexus Mods simply couldn’t handle the sheer size of this DLC-sized mod. But Team FOLON is now working with GOG to release the mod on as many platforms as possible.
“We initiated discussions with GOG to release Fallout: London after Nexus faced challenges hosting the files,” Carter told The Gamer. “Without the combined help of Nexus Mods and GOG, releasing Fallout: London wouldn’t be possible.”

While a new release date could still be some time away, Carter seems to have been toying with the idea of releasing the pre-next-gen update version of the mod. “We are being tempted by community feedback to launch on the old version alongside the new version,” Carter says. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely to ever happen as the mod’s Project Lead says it would “effectively double [their] workload.”
