If you are a part of the latter group, then you have probably realized thatEnshrouded’s gameplay system only allows you to build your base in a small radius of Flame Altar at the beginning of the game, unless you upgrade it using Shroud Cores.

How To Get Shroud Cores
There aretwo different waysto get Shroud Cores. You canfind them, and you cancraft them. To craft Shroud Cores, you mustfind Alchemistfirst. He is inside anAncient Vault in the northwest of Braelyn Bridgeas shown in the image above. After collecting Alchemist, you may summon him at your base. One of the things he can do is tocraft Shroud Coresfor you, which requiresShroud Spores and Shroud Liquidas ingredients. The former can be obtained by killing blue-ish enemies inside Shroud zones, while the latter can be collected by farming multiple plant types in Shroud zones.
The second way to get Shroud Cores is bykilling bosses. Most bosses thatreside in Shroud zoneswill drop a Shroud Core after death. If you pay a visit to theElixir Wellon the east side of Braelyn Bridge, and go deep inside the well, you will finda boss securing the Shroud Root, upon killing which you can get a Shroud Core.
While the first upgrade for Flame Altar requires one Shroud Core, the second upgrade will need five Shroud Cores, and honestly, it’s far easier to craft them rather than hunting bosses in Shroud zones. Aside from Shroud Core, Alchemist will allow you to craft a wide variety of other structures andmaterialsthat are necessary forcraftingadvanced magical weapons and armor.
