Quick Links
All weapons inElden Ringcome with a primary damage type, which, more often than not, is a type of physical damage. More unique weapons come with a second form of damage already infused into them and cannot be switched out; these secondary forms of damage are usually elemental.

These second forms of damage are very useful as additional elemental damage can get around an enemy’s resistance should they receive less damage from the weapon’s primary type. While having a second form of damage on a weapon is useful, a basic weapon with only one damage type can be boosted with items or spells to get a temporary second affinity, making it easy to switch out the second affinity to match target-specific resistances.
Where To Find Frozen Armament
Frozen Armament is located behind Caria Manor and can only be obtainedafter defeating Royal Knight Loretta. Starting from theRoyal Moongazing Ground Site Of Grace, head outside through the western exit. Now outside the manor, instead of heading towards the massive crystals and dragon ahead, make a sharp right turn and head to the more regular-looking pathwithout glintstone crystals.
Continue to the right and around the manor, keeping it on your right to find the path east. Shortly along the way, you’ll find a teardrop scarab; killing it will give you Frozen Armament.Be sure to attack the scarab either on horseback or with ranged attacks, as it will try to run away and disappear. Should it disappear, return to the Site Of Grace to make it respawn and try again.

How To Use Frozen Armament
Frozen Armamentrequires 15 intelligence to memorize, taking up one memory slot, and 20 FP to cast. This spell can only be cast if you have a staff in one hand and a single affinity weapon in the other. The cast time for this does take just a bit longer and should be considered when you attempt to imbue your weapon before fighting. Theweapon will stay imbued for about a minute,so casting a second or two early is better than too late. Castingthis spell will imbue your primary weapon with frostbite, which will give it the ability to frostbite your enemies, leaving themtaking additional damage while lowering their damage absorption for a short timeafter being affected.
This spell can only be cast on weapons with a single affinity, which usually is seen to fall off in the late game. Spells like this highlight the versatility of single affinity weapons, as this spell is best when paired with other spells or items to cover as many affinities as possible.Being able to change your weapon’s secondary effect to target the enemy’s lowest resistance will make your character incredibly powerfuland make boss fights much easier.
