The Erdtree might seem like the origin of life in the Lands Between, but in reality, the Erdtree is a “parasite” that took over the Great Tree. Anything related to the Great Tree was eventually looked down upon with the Erdtree taking its place.
The Two Fingers are one of the most mysterious aspects of the game as well, and according to the video, it was used by the Greater Will to enforce the order. Considering that the two fingers can’t take decisions on their own, they need to consult the Greater Will for guidance. Along with that, the Greater Will chooses Marika as an Empyrean, a candidate for godhood.
