Saint Figarland Garling Shake-up the Celestial
The Five Elders or the Gorosei have long been portrayed as shadowy majesties of the World Government. A post shared by @writingpanini on X reveals an image of Garling, seated in a position of authority among the remaining Elders.
He was replaced as a new Elder after Imu-sama killed Saturn because he failed to carry out his mission and was humiliated by Luffy.

Like the other Gorosei, Garling may have also gotten a power and become a monster! Is Garling the Fenrir, a monstrous (moon)wolf in Norse mythology?– Fenrir plays a key role during the events of Ragnarök.– Fenrir also has two sons: Hati and Skoll.pic.twitter.com/FOLjqHqauw

Saturn was a very detestable villain and he got the treatment that he deservedHe got humiliated by Luffy, failed his mission, and Imu killed him like the insect he ispic.twitter.com/FGa2WEBbi8
Considering that Shanks is son of Garling and he has a brother too, in the Norse mythology Skoll tries to kill the Goddess Sol (sun deity) and Hati tries to kill the god Mani (moon deity), which fits quite well with the incoming events

this would fit with Sanji fighting garling and Ethan fighting zoro in the end for they both correspond with opponents they fought before in enies lobby jabura and kaku ( a horse is close enough to giraffe)
This replacement isn’t just a mere changing of the guard. Garling, now one of the Five Elder Planets, appears to be a problematic force for other characters in the series. He was portrayed as royal and intimidating. He was projected with a pointed crown-like head and an imposing beard, similar to ancient gods or wise sages.

Goku’s Most Polarizing Transformation Might Also be Dragon Ball’s Most Overrated Addition to the Series
Moreover, the cases surrounding Saturn’s demise and Garling’s ascension remain shrouded. Could it be a sign of internal disputes between the Gorosei? Or is it suggesting a larger plan activated by the mysterious Imu?
Garling’s Connections to Norse Mythology
X user @writingpanini also has drawn Garling’s character parallel to Norse mythology. He suggested that Garling may be inspired by the legend of Fenrir. Similar to the monstrous wolf connected with the moon of Norse legends known for its role in Ragnarök, he too has a moon-shaped facial structure.
It has been pointed out that if Garling is indeedShanks‘ father, it could explain the red-haired pirate’smysterious backgroundand immense power.
Furthermore, the mythological connections extend to Shanks’ potential siblings. In Norse mythology, Fenrir has two sons: Hati and Skoll. The parallels between these mythical wolves and characters inOne Piece, suggest that Shanks and his brother might play roles similar to Hati and Skoll in the unfolding narrative.
