Dragon’s Dogma 2 Player’s “Relaxing” Oxcart Ride Gets Obliterated By Angry Griffin

Dragon’s Dogma 2 players may want to rethink those “relaxing” Oxcart rides!

One of the ways fights like these are so captivating is through interactivity. The push and pull of if you do this, this will happen, and if you attack there, that will happen. Figuring out an enemy’s weakness through trial and error and gaining the ability to make hard fights into a cakewalk is what RPGs are all about. To that end, making a large trip and fall can make their weakspots much easier to hit. Here is how to do it.

How To Topple Large Enemies

There are three ways to trip large enemies and make them fall.

Force Them Offbalance

Sheath your weapon, grab onto the feet of an enemy, and shove. This only works for enemies that walk on two legs, like Cyclops, Ogre, and Minotaur, and only when they’re off-balance, to begin with.

Knockdown power is the stat that dictates how offbalance an enemy gets when you hit them.Vocationswithhigh KnockdownlikeWarriorandFighterare the best at this but with enough persistence, anyone can do it.

If in doubt, attack the feet.

Use The Environment

If an enemy walks to acliff edge, they’ll enter a vulnerable state where even a littleshovecan force them over the edge. This is a very viable tactic but it’s rarely intentional as thePawn AI, smart as it is, doesn’t consider baiting enemies like this as the first option.

Stagger Them

Attacking a weakspotof a large enemy like aGriffin’s wingsor aDrake’s heartwill eventually force them into a vulnerable state where they’llfall to the ground pronewith their weakness exposed.

Skills To Trip Large Enemies

Thief’s Ensnare skillis the best tool for the job. When activated, the character will throw a snared rope at the target, giving you the same effect as grabbing an enemy if you hold onto the rope but without the downside of having to be in close range.

Ensnare allows you to force an enemy to topple toward you if you move your character backward with it activated. Note that this only works if you’re able to topple an enemy off-balance in the first place, like an Ogre or a Cyclops. You’ll have a harder time getting aGolemto fall, as they’re literally made of stone, and Drakes and Griffins have four legs, so they are inherently much more stable.

Warrior’s entire skillsetis centered around trying to stagger enemies, which, in turn, makes them fall. Skyward Sunder, Knoll Breaker, Savage Lash, and even Arc of Might deal massive knockdown damage.Fighter’s Shield Bashalso has a knockdown element to it, though it’s less effective than the alternatives as it deals no damage.

Large enemy fights can be made much easier with the proper investment in your character.Powerful early game weapons, maxed out vocations, anduseful pawnsto help out are key to taking down these monsters.
