In the world ofDragon Ball, there are very few characters who are stronger than Goku and Vegeta, the main characters of the story. One of them is Broly, who although has had an immense story shift inDragon Ball Super, still is filled with immense strength and raw power that can potentially defeat Goku and Vegeta.

Broly - Dragon ball Super - Legendary Super Saiyan Form

In theDragon Ball Super: Brolymovie, The Son of Paragus, Broly, is a formidable Saiyan mutant. He was raised by his father on the planet Vampa after King Vegeta discarded him from Planet Vegeta due to his alleged higher power level than Prince Vegeta’s. Cheelai and Lemo of the Frieza Force eventually saved him 48 years later.

Be it in theDragon Ball Zseries or theDragon Ball Superseries, Broly is shown to be extremely strong and no one knows why he has more potential than Goku and Vegeta combined. However, oneDragon Ball Supertheory perfectly explains the reason behind Broly being so insanely strong.

Theory Explains Why Broly is Potentially Stronger Than Goku and Vegeta

The reason for Broly’s strength can be traced back to another Sayian with incredible natural strength, Gohan. Saiyan hybrids, such as Gohan, have far more potential and ability than pure Saiyans, as fans may have noticed throughout the series. Gohan achieved Super Saiyan 2 status at the age of 11.

There is a reason for this, and it is due to S-Cells, which cause Super Saiyan transformations and an improvement in profusion depending on the warrior’s demeanor, with empathy and generosity resulting in far more cell numbers and thus a greater strength. As a hybrid, Gohan didn’t have any obsession with fighting at all. In the case of Broly, he was born with an inherent innocence and kindness, which is the source of his insane natural talent and power.

Broly Fighting Vegeta

On Earth, Gohan was the purest Saiyan thus, his power levels were unmatchable even for Goku and Vegeta. The same was true with Broly. He friended a monster who wanted to kill him and when Frieza killed his father, he felt a rage inside him, despite his father being cruel to him in the past. Thus it can be said that emotions affect the level of power within Saiyans, and innocent and compassionate characters like Gohan and Broly have much higher power levels.
