The fact that the belovedDragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichigames are getting a sequel after all these years is truly exciting, but there have been some worrying reports regarding the features thatSparking Zeromay or may not have. One of the best aspects of the OGBudokai Tenkaichititles was that players could invite a friend over, start the game, and battle it out, as they used to have the option of split-screen or couch multiplayer.

However, the upcoming title will reportedly not include that must have feature, and fans are disappointed, prompting one to start a petition against it.
Fans Want Split-Screen Multiplayer in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero
TheBudokai Tenkaichigames mean a lot to a huge number of people, and when nostalgia is involved, it becomes a very dangerous ground to tread on for developers working on the next installment. SinceSparking Zerois set out to be the ultimateDragonBallexperience that is extremely faithful to the manga, anime, and most importantly,Budokai Tenkaichi, the reported absence of a staple feature from the series is obviously not sitting well with OG fans.
Which is why there is now actually apetitionon Change.org that tries to rebel against the upcoming game not having split-screen multiplayer.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero May Not Have Split-Screen Co-Op, But It Reportedly Has Another Highly Requested Feature
The point of the petition is to get the developers to “delay” the fourth installment in theBudokai Tenkaichiseries until they figure out a way to incorporate the split-screen multiplayer feature into it. It was created by a “long time fan of the Dragon Ball Sparking” games, and just like so many other players, the creator also “loved playing with” their siblings while being able to sit in the same room simultaneously.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Reportedly Gets a Release Window and the Removal of a Beloved Budokai Tenkaichi Feature
IfSparking Zerotakes that away, it would genuinely be somewhat of a heartbreak for such fans since this would require everyone to have their own consoles to play together.
The Split-Screen Multiplayer Feature Was “One of the Greatest Aspects of” Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi
AlthoughDragonBall: Sparking Zerowill apparently be the most complete video game the series has ever had, the fan who created the petition argues that the split-screen multiplayer feature was easily “one of the greatest aspects of” theBudokai Tenkaichititles.
Similar to how plenty of other fans must be feeling, the creator expressed their disappointment but stated that it has been almost 17 years sinceBudokai Tenkaichi 3, so “waiting a little longer for things to come out just right” does not seem too bad.

It is interesting to note that, reportedly, the developers are not to blame for this since both PlayStation and Xbox apparently did not want the feature to be included in the game in the hopes of selling more consoles.

Building his collection of PlayStation consoles throughout the years all the way up until PS5, he prefers single-player experiences like The Last of Us and Persona, while also letting off steam on a daily basis with casual EA Sports FC matches. But the current rise in online multiplayer shooters will never really appeal to his old-school self.
