In the episode, we see Marc and Steven are indeed dead, and this asylum is just a projection of their mental state. And apart from revisiting their childhood trauma, Marc and Steven also tried to balance their scales. For that, they have to be honest with each other and reveal whatever they are hiding. If they fail to do so, the unbalanced souls in the desert will claim their souls. On the other hand, fear grows in the main world as Ammit starts judging all the people, and souls arrive in the Underworld before their time. The Hippo Goddess agrees to help Marc and Steven get back to Earth in their injured body, but first, they have to pass through the Osiris’s gate by balancing their scales.

Marc finally reveals everything to Steven, including the fact that their mother is dead. Steven learns that his mother wasn’t how he remembered her. Instead of being a loving and caring person, she was an abusive mother who couldn’t get over her younger son’s death. Steven, on the other hand, realizes what Marc has gone through, and he tells Marc that he wasn’t responsible for his brother’s death. All this helps Marc and Steven’s scales to balance, but the unbalanced souls start targeting Marc, and Steven tries to help him. However, in the end, we see Steven dropping into the desert and becoming a part of the sand. Marc, on the other hand, finds himself in the Field of Reeds, the Egyptian heaven.
