Apparently, when Cruise stood in position at the chapel’s altar, he was left waiting there “for the next twenty minutes (but what seemed like an eternity)”. The book also described that he put an “everything-is-great” look on his face “as the crowd grew uncomfortable”. At one point, Lopez asked Remini, “Do you think Katie is coming?” It would have been a massive embarrassment if she didn’t.

Holmes was just late for the event as the wedding ceremony still took place. It was unfortunate that their marriage only lasted for six years after Holmes filed for divorce in 2012.

The presumed reason for Cruise and Holmes split was the actress’ concern over Tom’s affiliation with Scientology. She didn’t want Suri to engage in the controversial religion.
