Blizzard has revealedDiablo 4Season 3 called Season of the Construct which is scheduled to start on January 23 after the conclusion of Season of Blood on January 2022. The upcoming season will take players beneath the deserts of Kehjistan to take on demon Malphas where players will face new mechanized enemies, deadly traps, mechanical scorpion-like Constructs, and more.
Season of the Construct will bring different pieces of content inDiablo 4and will mainly focus on players as they explore Kehjistan with their constructed spider companion, The Seneschal. While players are excited to see what all the upcoming season has in store for them, a much-needed feature is finally coming toDiablo 4.
Diablo 4 Season of the Construct to Bring Leaderboard Dungeon, the Gauntlet
Blizzard revealed the details aboutDiablo 4Season of the Construct in a blog post and revealed that the upcoming season will finally bring the much-needed leaderboards via The Gauntlet. The Gauntlet will be a weekly rotating dungeon that will see players compete for the top spot on the leaderboard and the top 10 weekly scorers will see a place in“the Hall of the Ancients.”
The Gauntlet is similar to Challenge Rifts inDiablo 3and will be resetting weekly and bring the same layout, and monster spawns for all players. Players can compete solo or with friends in The Gauntlet and even though it will not allow players to collect loot, they can earn rewards.
Players will need to acquire Proofs of Might by taking on monsters, opening chests, and completing more activities. There will be several ladders in The Gauntlet, ones for class, and party size, and hardcore and non-hardcore ones. The players will be rewarded Seals based on their leaderboard standings and players an show them off on their profiles.
The Seals which will be rewarded include Seal of the Blooded, Seal of the Steadfast, Seal of the Iron-Willed, and Seal of the Worthy. The positions related to each Seal are not yet known. The Gauntlet will not be released on the same day as the new season but will come later in the season. It has been a long-requested feature from the players and developers have finally listened to them.
The new seasonal questline in Season of the Construct will take place in Kehjistan and players will take on a demon called Malphas. The companion called The Seneschal can be customized by players as per their playstyle using magical stones of different rarities and power levels. There are nearly 40 stones that players can collect to customize their companion.
There are also new seasonal dungeon activities called Vaults that feature several traps and new Constructs and World Tier 3 will unlock Nightmare Vaults for players looking for something more difficult. Moreover, the Vaults has a mechanic that allows players to earn more bonuses and loot if players avoid damage from the traps. The main boss in the Vaults doesn’t move but players will need to keep avoiding traps to fight the boss.
There are also several new additions to the game in Season 3 such as an Extra Stash tab for more loot, and WASD Movement that will allow players to use WASD to move their character instead of relying on the mouse. Improvements to UI while trading gold have been made as well as for reallocating points on the skill tree. Blizzard will reveal more details onDiablo 4Season of the Construct including The Gauntlet via Developer livestream on January 18.
