AfterEpisode: Heresyreleases on February 4th, 2025, the studio has the opportunity to explore one of the most hidden factions in theDestinyuniverse: The Nine. While not much is known about the mysterious faction, their agent, Xûr, could play a pivotal role in shedding light on their secrets and motivations.

Destiny 2Should Delve Deep Into the Secrets of the Nine in a Future Episode

For those who don’t know, the Nine are one of the cryptic factions inDestiny 2. Very little information is known about them beyond some vague references and encounters. What we do know is that their existence is deeply tied to the Sol system, as each is composed of dark matter and awakened by the gravitational forces of the planets.

This connection makes them inherently linked to the planets and lifeforms that inhabit them and, by extension, to the Guardians, who have sworn to protect the same world.

Despite this profound connection, the Nine rarely interact with Guardians directly. Instead, they send their agent, Xûr to interact and offer Guardiansexotic weapons (weekly) to make them powerful and more capableof defending the planets.

This relationship is very intriguing and if in the future, Bungie decides to focus an episode on the Nine, Xûr should play a pivotal role as an emissary. His interactions with Guardians have already shown that he is aware of larger cosmic events and shifts in power within the universe.

He could serve as the perfect guide to uncovering more about the Nine, especially if they begin to play a more central role in future storylines. Given their influence on past events and their mysterious ultimate goal, they are the perfect candidate for deep exploration in an upcoming episode.

A Missed Opportunity for Immersive Storytelling

AsDestiny 2fully transitions into its episodic format, this presents the studio with a unique opportunity to explore factions and mysteries that were left behind in the shadows. Among all the various factions, The Nine stand out the most.

With so much mystery about them, an episode dedicated to uncovering their secrets would be the perfect way to expand the game’s rich lore and deepen its universe. With Xûr as a guide, players could venture into the unknown and discover the mysterious faction’s true purpose.

Destiny 2’s Historic Victory Against Hackers Seems to Have Inspired Fortnite to Take Cheaters and Cheat Makers to Court

If Bungie fails to explore more about the Nine in one of its future Episodes, it would be a massive missed opportunity. As the faction is not just a mystery to be solved, it represents a force that could significantly impact the game’s future.

In the end, players can only hope that the developers will take advantageof this opportunity to explore one of the most mysterious factions in the game, The Nine. Only time will tell.
