Withless than two weeksuntilDestiny 2’sthird EpisodeHeresy, we now have a new event that bookends Revenant’s story. As the weekly reset rolls in, we’re introduced to the “The Past is Prologue” event.
Much like theRiven’s Wishes eventinSeason of the Wish,you canearn tokens for a limited time.Instead of Wish Tokens, you’ll earn Bento Tokens by completing Bento Box quests, as you help Drifter make lunch boxes for Eris Morn (which is sweet of him).
Once you’ve completed five quests, you’ll be rewarded Chatterwhite, abeloved shader in the originalDestiny.As the eternal rival to theSuperblack shader, Chatterwhite was once a raid rare drop from defeating Atheon in the original Vault of Glass.
At the time of this writing (16-07-2025), there are only four Bento Box quests available, as the event istime-limited and time-gated.The fifth Bento Box in week 1 should be available when Xûr arrives for the weekend.
The remaining Bento Boxes will be available in the next weekly reset on 17-06-2025.You’ll have to wait until Friday to earn Chatterwhite properly.

Packed Lunch
Requirements
Complete 5 Bento Box quests.
Chatterwhite Shader
To begin your journey, you must first talk toDrifter in the Annex of the Tower.He’ll give you the Packed Lunch quest first, and from that point, you’ll pick up any future quests from him.
The Packed Lunch quest only requires5 Bento Box completions,which cannot be completed before 31-07-2025 as Drifter only offersfour questsat the moment.
However, once you’ve completed the Packed Lunch quest, you’ll be rewarded with the legendary Chatterwhite shader.
Nightmare Lunch
Complete activities on the Moon. Bonus progress for Nightmare Hunts.
1 Bento Token
The first Bento Box to complete is Nightmare Lunch. This is a really simple quest, as it only requiresactivity completions on the Moon.It’ll be a tedious one, as the progress bar requires you to do60 activities.
As suggested by the quest, the quickest way to complete this quest is throughNightmare Hunts, which requires you tohave completed the Shadowkeep campaign to access it.
Martial Mementos
Get 200 final blows with Malfeasance, Witherhoard, Touch of Malice, Whisper of the Worm, Xenophage, or Arbalest.
This will be a rather easy one. Martial Mementos requires you tosecure kills with the listed weapons,which are rather easily accessible for most players.
All you need to do is touse the weapon you’re most comfortable with. I went withMalfeasanceas it’s a primary weapon and never runs out of ammo.
A Dubious Bento
Collect 10 Dubious Celery from defeated targets in Gambit, and collect 10 Century eggs from defeated combatants on the Moon.
For A Dubious Bento, all you need to do is kill some enemies on the Moon andparticipate in Gambit.The drop rate for either of those items ispretty high,so it’s very likely that you’ll complete this quest inless than 30 minutes.
If you’re a masochist who for some reason loves playing Gambit, then I’m sure you’ll have a blast doing this quest.
The Stuff Of Legends
Complete the final encounter of two dungeons or one raid.
2 Bento Tokens
For this quest, you’ll need to completeendgame content. All you need to do is complete thefinal encounter of a dungeontwice or complete the final encounter of a single raid.
You have the freedom to choose to complete a raid or a dungeon with a fresh clear, but if you want to expedite completing this quest, then your best bet is to go onFireteam Finder(or an LFG Discord server) and find a group to play with.Most players will have saved a checkpoint for convenience.
Just load up a raid or dungeon that you feel the most comfortable or interested in playing and complete it. Don’t sweat it–you’ll get a bonus of earning some sweetPinnacle Gear.
Dredgens Of Yore
Get 50 Guardian final blows in Crucible or Gambit. Final blows in Gambit and with Hand Cannons earn additional progress.
Bento Tokens
From this point on, we’ll be looking at Bento Box quests that will be released on 13-07-2025. As this was written that date, we’re not sure of the exact numbers or details, and information on the week 2 quests is scant. These may be updated in the future to reflect the information accurately.
If you’re a hardcore PvP sweat, then this’ll be a fun one. You’ll need to secure 50 PvP kills in Crucible or Gambit. You can either hop on Competitive or a casual quickplay Control match.
As the description suggests, scoring kills in Gambit while using a Hand Cannon willgrant you the most progress.We’re not sure by how much, but let’s hope you’re good at popping shots from a distance.
You may use whatever Hand Cannon you prefer, but Igneous Hammer, Fatebringer, Austringer, and Luna’s Howl might be good choices.
Nightmare Kills
Defeat Nightmare bosses and challenging combatants.
Despite Nightmare bosses being yellow bars, they’re power-crept to the point where they’remajor pushovers.A decently equipped Guardian will have no trouble dispatching them and completing this quest.
Nightmare bosses can be found inAltar of Sorrows, Lost Sectors, or Nightmare Hunts.It’s unclear what “challenging combatants” means, so it’s safer to justcomplete waves of Altar of Sorrows and kill Nightmares there. There will likely be other Guardians, so you won’t be alone in completing this quest.
Secure 200 final blows with Gambit weapons.
Finally, we have Snakebite, which requires you to score 200 final blows withGambit weapons.
Much like Martial Mementos,the recommended strategy is to use whatever weapon you have or are most comfortable with.The description does not specify any Gambit weapon, so even the oldest weapons like Bygones or 21% Delirium will work.
Optimizing Quest Completion
If you’re worried about time constraints, then we would recommend optimizing your time by completing multiple quests at the same time.
For example, you can easily knock out Nightmare Lunch, half of A Dubious Bento, and Martial Mementos just by farming Nightmare Hunts on the Moon with Malfeasance.
Thankfully, most of these quests don’t require a lot of strategizing, so have fun and grind away!
