A rumor has been going around, claiming the season 2 ofDemon SlayerKimetsu no Yaiba, theEntertainment DistrictArc (Yukaku-hen), will have its first episodes covering theMugen Trainarc, covering the same manga chapters as the record-breaking movie.

Demon Slayer S2first episodes will cover the Mugen Train arc - Where did the rumor come from?

The rumor claimingDemon Slayer S2will include theMugen Trainarc was first shared by Spytrue. A leaker who regularly has access to magazines such as V Jump and Shonen Jump before they’re released. Even earlier than Japanese magazine leaker blog Ryokutya. This is how they leak information, and why this rumor has a pretty good chance of being true.

In the next few days, it’s likely new information onDemon SlayerS2 will be released in those magazines, officially announcing the first episodes will focus onMugen Train.

With that said, there are several points to keep in mind, as many fans seem to be confused as to what “the anime will cover theMugen Trainarc” actually means.

Demon Slayerseason 2 - What does theMugen Trainarc readaptation rumor means?

Ufotable, the studio behind season 1 and theMugen Trainmovie, is also handling season 2. In other words,Mugen Trainwill not be completely re-animated as Ufotable can simply reuse its work from the movie.

If the rumor is true, this will be a similar situation as series such asDragon Ball Super, which showed part of the previously releasedBattle of Godsmovie in its story. However, it’s likely some scenes from theMugen Trainmovie will be added, modified, or improved. Maybe the infamous CG scenes will get changed.

It’s also important to note Fuji TV will be broadcasting theMugen Trainmovie on September 25. Which is a few days before the start of Season 2.

It’s possible theMugen Trainarc TV version inDemon Slayer S2will also include some of the arc’s aftermath, not included in the movie. Such as Tanjiro meeting with Kyojuro’s father.

In any case, keep in mind this wasn’t officially confirmed yet. While I do believe it myself, I’ll personally be fully convinced when we see leaks from Japanese leakers or an official announcement.
