Plasma Cutter
The Plasma Cutter is the most iconic weapon and also the first weapon acquired by Isaac. Every player will get this weapon at the beginning of the game. At the beginning of Chapter One, Isaac can be seen escaping from a horde of Necromorphs. While running from the Necromorphs, you will enter a room where the Plasma Cutter can be seen lying on a table with “Cut off their limbs” written on the wall with blood. You can switch the Plasma Cutter between alternate fire modes tocut off different limbs of the Necromorphsfrom different angles.
Pulse Rifle
You can find the Pulse Rifle while completing Chapter Two. Upon entering the Medical Deck Tram Station, you will encounter a dying security officer on the floor. This officer will drop the Pulse Rifle for you after death.
The Pulse Rifle is the first automatic gun you will acquire in Dead Space. The Pulse Rifle’s alternative firing mode fires proximity grenades, costing 25 rounds and dealing AoE damage on the Necromorphs. The Pulse Rifle will come in handy while going against many Necromorphs together.
The Ripper is one of the most potent weapons in Dead Space for close-range combats against Necromorphs. The Ripper has a long-range firing mode as well. The primary firing mode uses a saw that can be used effectively to cut off limbs of the Necromorphs. The secondary firing mode, however, releases ricocheting blades that can deal much damage on multiple adversaries at once.
The Ripper can be found during Chapter Three when you will be tasked to refuel the southern engines of USG Ishimura. While roaming through the engineering deck, you will discover a decapitated corpse, and the Ripper can be found lying next to the body.
Dead Space Remake Chapter 5: How To Beat The Hunter In Cryogenics
Running into trouble beating the Hunter in Chapter 5 of the Dead Space Remake? Here is a guide to help you beat it!
Flamethrower
Flamethrower is another potent weapon in Dead Space that can be found in Chapter Three. In this chapter, you will be tasked with manually turning on the engines of the ship. While heading towards the fuel storage on the fifth floor of Engineering, you will come to a tunnel covered with Necromorph flesh on the wall. After entering the tunnel, you see a corpse hanging on the Necromorph meat while holding the flamethrower. You can pick up the Flamethrower from the dead body.
The Flamethrower is a powerful weapon for crowd control. It can gradually increase damage over time after being set on the body of the Necromorphs. However, using this weapon only during specific situations is wise, as the Flamethrower eats up ammo faster. Its alternate firing mode creates a wall of fire that stops the enemies from aggressing toward you.
Contact Beam
The Contact Beam is one of the strongest weapons in Dead Space. It is also one of the most complex weapons to obtain in this game. The Contact Beam fires high-energy beams, which can take down enemies easily. The alternate firing mode fires a burst of powerful laser called Asteroid Cutter, which can take down bosses with just a few hits.
During Chapter Four, the mission will require you to reroute power from the Mining Administration to the ADS Cannons. While carrying out this task, you will come across the Record Office, where the Contact Beam can be found. Accessing this office requires a Level 2 Security Clearance, which you must obtain directly from Hammond.
To reach the Record Office:
The Line Gun is an upgraded version of the Plasma Cutter with an increased Area of Effect. The secondary firing mode fires a laser trap that can take out Necromorph limbs easily. you’re able to find this weapon in the Emergency Equipment Room, also locked with Security Clearance Level 2 Doors. But luckily, you can unlock this door using the security clearance you received from Hammond during Chapter Four.
In Chapter Five, you must flee from an unkillable monster called Hunter. While running from the Hunter, you will reach the ER Hallway A after passing the Emergency Room. Turn to your right from there and continue down the corridor to find the Emergency Equipment Room.
You will come across this room on two occasions during the entire game. First, you will come in front of this room before rerouting the power to ADS Cannons in Chapter Four. Then you will again come in front of this room while running away from the Hunter. you’re able to collect the Line Gun at any of these two times.
Force Gun is the final weapon that you may obtain in Dead Space. Its primary firing mode fires air bullets that can one shot kill Necromorphs in short range. The secondary firing mode fires a gravity well that pulls the enemies towards it.
The Force Gun can be obtained during Chapter 6: Environmental Hazard. After reaching the Hydroponic Deck Hub area, head towards the West Grow Chamber after taking the lift from the West Tower. On your left side, you will find a Security Clearance Level 2 room called the West Seedling Room A. Unlock this room and get the Force Gun inside it.
