Knives Out

The mystery genre has been around for a very long time, which has made it quite difficult to do something new. Everything has already been done and every twist has been turned far too many times. When something becomes this familiar to audiences, many filmmakers and creators draw inspiration from preexisting works to get what they think are the best parts and make something new.

Detective Pikachu Gets Disappointing Update

Even though Detective Pikachu was iconic in its own way and inspired other films, it would seem that there are those who do not appreciate it as much. Despite the amount of attention it got, the second part of the film has been in production for far too long. Due to the SAG-AFTRA and Writers’ strikes, the production slowed down, so many expected everything to go back into full swing now.

However, the lead star of the film, Justice Smith, recently gave an interview withScreenRantwhere he gave an update that might upset many fans.

Chris Evans in a still from the film

“I have not heard of any movement. I mean, I know what was released online, but no one has called me. So I’m just waiting for that call.”

He revealed that he has not been kept in the loop when it comes to the production of the film. Any news that he is receiving is coming directly from the media, which likely means that the production may not be as fast as some would think. This is quite concerning as the first part of the movie came out in 2019.
