Cyberpunk 2077has come a long way since it was released in its sorry state back in 2020. With the Phantom Liberty DLC being one ofCDPR’s best worksyet and the game being fixed, now is a great time to jump back into Cyberpunk, especially if you still haven’t played the DLC.
Now, even though Cyberpunk gives you the option of jumping straight into the DLC, if you are starting from scratch, you can easily get confused about when the best time in the main story is to start the Phantom Liberty DLC.

Since I have played the game three times now and have almost 200 hours of playtime, here’s when you should start the Phantom Liberty DLC.
Best Time To Start Phantom Liberty
The Phantom Liberty DLC unlocks after you have found Evelyn Parker and finished theTransmission quest. Now, even though it’s tempting to start right away, don’t jump the gun just yet.
Phantom Liberty consists of thehardest boss fightsin Cyberpunk 2077 (yes, even tougher than Adam Smasher). Now, I’m not going to spoil those boss fights for you, butyou’ll need a proper build for your character if you wish to survive in Dog Town.

After you have finished all the main missions of Act 2, Act 3 consists of only one mission, named “Nocturne Op55N1”, which is also the point of no return.Once in Act 3, finish up Johnny Silverhand’sTapeworm sidequestas well, and start the DLC.
You will probably be above level 30, have a proper character build, and gold-rated weapons by the time you finish Johnny’s questline, so this is easily the perfect time to jump into Phantom Liberty.

After what I consider one of the best intros to a DLC, you will be let loose in Dog Town, which is even more chaotic than Night City.
