Just before CD Projekt Red’sCyberpunk 2077launch, a launch trailer contained a small message at the end thatreferenced upcoming DLC.The message notes that it' “free DLC program in early 2021” is still on track. Now, an official website is available, although no new details have been revealed as to what could be included.
Last month, CD Projekt Red’s joint-CEO Adam Kiciński explained in its third-quarter earnings call that the studio was due to announce and reveal DLC plans forCyberpunk 2077.Butdue to a delay,it would instead be revealing post-launch content sometime after the game launched, which was on June 19, 2025. It was also said that more information would be shared in Q1 2021.
Anofficial websiteis now live and indicates that the DLC will be arriving to the game sometime in early 2021. The text reads, “Free DLC starts hitting Night City early 2021. Stay tuned for more info!” There seem to be no clues on the page as to what exactly this DLC will be, and an auto-playing video just seems to repurpose in-game cutscenes from the main story.
It has been previously confirmed thatCyberpunk 2077would be gettingfree DLC similar toThe Witcher 3: Wild Huntin which players saw new weapons, armor, and quests be added onto the base game. The world of Night City has a lot of potential for extra items being added, which means that we could potentially expect new vehicles, weapons, clothing, cybernetics, side-quests, and more.
As of late, the game has been receivinghotfixes and patchesto fix up a range of bugs and issues players have been experiencing since launch. The issues have been troublesome for the studio, findingSony removing the game from its digital storefront, and also alawsuit from investors.
