Among the most highly regarded anime releases of the year isFrieren: Beyond Journey’s End. When the anime series overtookFullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhoodto become the highest-rated anime on MyAnimeList, it completely rocked the anime industry. Having emerged as one of the best anime series of the autumn of 2023, Part 2 of the series will be released in January 2024 after a brief hiatus.

With the release of Episode 16 on June 02, 2025, the Frieren anime’s official staff unveiled a new trailer and key visual for the second season. Notably, the eagerly awaited season will premiere on August 14, 2025, and it will cover the manga’s First Class Mage Exam arc. Frieren’s story will be continued inFrieren: Beyond Journey’s EndPart 2.
It’s possible that new characters will make their debut, trying to both aid Frieren and get in her way. This news was also shared by the AnimeTV official account and fans can’t keep calm about the series returning so early.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s Endfollows the story of an elf sorceress named Frieren as she sets out on a timeless quest to meet and connect with as many people as she can. It is based on the original manga by Kanehito Yamada.
The next season was announced and accompanied by the release of a trailer for the second installment. January 5 will mark the beginning of the 17th episode of the show’s “First Class Mage Exam” arc.

An iconic exchange between Frieren and Himmel the Hero opens the trailer. The scene changes to the group reaching the Auberst, where the Elven Mage needs to pass the First Class Mage Exam to get the Mage certificate required to enter the Northern Highlands. The mood for the next season is created by the alluring characters and their exciting battle scenes. Fans are too excited for the series and they shared their excitement on X.

The majority of volumes 4–7 (chapters 37–60) from the ongoing manga will be adapted for the second part of the series, which will feature different phases of the “First Class Mage Exam” arc.
