Helldivers 2made a mark for itself at a time when live-service titles were primarily looked down upon, and any title that had a live-service offering was automatically considered a money-hogging scheme. Despite this, Arrowhead Game Studios was one of the few studios that managed to challenge this.

Despite a few speedbumps that came in the way, the title continued to captivate the audience. However, recently, fans have felt like Johann Pilestedt and his team are missing the mark, and players are letting the studio know they are unhappy with that.
Helldivers 2 UI Interface Changes Seem to Make Things Worse for the Game
Helldivers 2is a title that appeals to fans at large. Fans have been fighting for democracy on far-off planets with their squad mates. Recently, however, apatch was released for the gameby Arrowhead Game Studios, endorsed as something that would significantly overhaul the player’s experience.

The patch looked to fix some glaring issues with the game, including nerfs and buffs to mechanics like stratagems, which are central to the game’s meta. However, it seems like the patch has done more harm than good for the title, as fans are voicing their displeasure and dissatisfaction with it. For example, this is how a fan reacted on Twitter.
The UI interface is too ugly!! Change it back!! Very vulgar!

With all of this, Arrowhead seems unable to sustain its magic. Like always, fans haven’t been mincing any words for the game since the patch came out. It is interesting to speculate what is ahead for the game, especially considering how it was considered a GotY award contender for the better part of its lifecycle.
Another note is that while there may be things that the studio is getting wrong withHelldivers 2, it hasn’t received much flak for its microtransactions, which is seen commonly with live-service games and leads to their failure.

What Other Players Think of the Latest Helldivers 2 Patch by Arrowhead Game Studio
With live-service titles, changes to the game and its meta are part and parcel of the offering, and this is done to keep the game fresh and the players engaged. Getting these aspects right was responsible forHelldivers 2‘s success. That is why people expect more from the game.

What’s worse is that the latest patch has introducedgame-breaking bugs, which is always disastrous. And this is how fans are reacting to the current state of the title:
Beyond me that these dudes think the new Helldivers 2 UI is better, even calling it “amazing”

However, some fans had an incredibly different opinion and thought the new UI was a fine addition to the game:
Helldivers 2’s new UI & Galactic Map is super cool. Really phenomenal improvement! 🔥I NEED a firing range tho, I want to try out all these guns but I dont want to do a 40 minute match, try the gun, bail on a team or stick through 40 minutes with a gun I don’t like.@Pilestedtpic.twitter.com/jNFpMpiLWb

Whenever something as crucial to player experience as UI changes, polarizing opinions are expected. Especially, when a game sustains an incredible number of players.
Regardless, Arrowhead has repeatedly shown that it cares about the community’s response to changes and updates in the game. So, it might not be a long shot for the studio to develop something that makes for a generally favorable reception.
