Chainsaw Manis iconic in every possible sense. From its music to visuals, the manga aces the slasher themes. It is a real treat for fans looking for gore and 80s slasher vibe. There’s a caveat to it nonetheless.

Despite his impeccable art style, Fujimoto fumbled in the last few chapters. Calling it a blunder would be an understatement. From excessive lines to crooked hands, here are the six ugliest panels from the manga.

1Denji’s funny face in Chapter 139

Anime fans sure know how to criticizeBorutofor his ugly crying. That is until we see Denji’s disgusted face. Rather than disgust it’s sure to crack everyone up. And there’s more to it.

Denji makes this face when Miri Sugo asks him to get rid of his classmates. Despite the seriousness, the disgusting face is truly memeable.

2Chapter 147 redefined the iconic cat meme

We all know the iconic white cat and desperate housewives meme. It is so iconic, that it would’ve been inducted in the hall of memes. Well, Chapter 147 is reminiscent of that.

Except that there is no cat and it is just the old man. Fujimoto’s art style has beencriticizedlately. And this is no exception.

This, however, isn’t the only time Fujimoto messed up. Especially when it comes to his treatment of side characters.

3Chapter 141 did Nayuta dirty

Tatsuki Fujimotohas been praised for his art style, despite the fact that it has taken a nosedive. While Chapter 147 redefined disaster with the crooked hands, Chapter 141 tops the charts.

Nayuta’s distorted hand had fans calling her an inbred child. The panel reflects the mangaka’s downgrade, especially with his art style. Sadly, his lackluster art style is reflected in the main characters as well.

4Gege Akutami would be horrified by Chapter 181

Chapter 181 would surely horrifyGege Akutamiin every way possible. Except that it lacks ghosts and would disgust every art student. Denji is seen lying while Asa confronts him. And there’s more to it.

The chapter had the controversial kiss that had fans all riled up but that is not it. From Denji’s shoes to his overall posture, the panel is a complete downgrade.

chapter 181

The distorted shoe style isn’t constricted to Chapter 181 as Fujimoto did it yet again. Especially with this particular panel.

5Tatsuki Fujimoto horrified readers with Chapter 127

Asa is seen falling when Denji suddenly grabs her hand. In the previous chapter, she is pursued by the Falling Devil. As she holds for her dear life, Denji saves her. Except that this moment is rather comical.

The hand grab is as amateur as it gets. It renders a cartoonish vibe to the panel. In all honesty, this reflects the plummeting of the mangaka’s brilliance.

6Chapter 146 could be a gag reel inChainsaw Manmanga

The humanoid chainsaw devils wreak havoc in this particular episode. What’s interesting is that it reflects a form of mass hysteria. With everyone chanting Chainsaw Man’s name, it turns into a bloody affair. That too, with a dash of comedy.

The panel shows a woman next to the humanoid chainsaw devil. To top it off, her confused look says it all.

All in all, part two is being heavily criticized for the art style. The mangaka’s lackluster and subpar art proved to be a disappointment to many readers. Though the panels certainly provided comic relief to several fans.

Chainsaw Manis available for streaming on Crunchyroll. The manga is available for reading on Viz Media.
