As part of the company’s FY2023 earnings conference,CD Projekthas provided minor updates on all four internal projects.
The bulk of CD Projekt’s manpower has now been allocated to the next instalment inThe Witcherseries, codenamed Polaris. 403 developers are working on Polaris, over two-thirds of CD Projekt’s 627 development staff.
The company’s last quarterly report revealed almost 50% of CD Projekt’s developers were engaged in creatingCyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, the majority of which have now been transferred to Polaris. Only 17 developers are now providing support for Cyberpunk 2077.

“The bulk of our efforts are currently devoted to Polaris - the first instalment in the new Witcher trilogy, which now engages over 400 team members,” said chief financial officer Piotr Nielubowicz, in afinancial results video.
CD Projekt’s newest office, Boston, is wholly responsible for developing Orion, “another large game set in the Cyberpunk universe.” This constitutes just under 50 people, some of whom worked on Phantom Liberty. Orion is currently in the concept phase.

CD Projekt’s subsidiary The Molasses Flood and a contingent of developers from CD Projekt are working on Sirius, a game set in the Witcher universe. The number of developers engaged in this project hasn’t changed, remaining at just under 50. Sirius will contain multiplayer elements and potentially an open world, if past job listings are anything to go by. The project remains in pre-production.
Project Hadar is a wholly original IP, separate from both The Witcher and Cyberpunk. It’s a long-term project, so CD Projekt has a small strike team of 20 developers working on it. According to the graphic, Hadar is still in the “IP concept phase.”
A remake of the original The Witcher, completely in Unreal Engine 5, is in development byFool’s Theory, a Polish studio thatrecently shipped its own isometric RPG, The Thaumaturge.
Financially, Nielubowicz revealed that 2023 was the “second-best year in [the company’s] history.”
