Halo Community Manager May Have Axed Rumors Saying 343 Industries Will Oversee Games Instead Of Develop

Halo’s community manager John Junyszek addresses the “wild” state of the rumor mill.

“Visit our new Atlas Superstore branch in Urzikstan for amazing drops, great Fire Sales, and winning customer service,” the studio said in a new post on X. Fans can check out the updated version of Superstore in the video below, which gives a short glimpse into what fans can expect from the returning POI.

As spotted by Call of Duty content creatorIsaac on X, it looks like Superstore is going to be placed just south of the Orlov Military Base POI, which can be located at the most northeast point of Urzikstan.

The return of Superstore has been praised by fans, but it’s not quite the Verdansk return that many were hoping for. Rumours and leaks initially stated that Verdansk would be returning to Call of Duty: Warzone by the end of 2024, but a new report from a prominent leaker suggests that themap’s return has been internally delayed to 2025.

According to leaker BobNetworkUK, Verdansk will return to Warzone “during the mid-lifecycle of Black Ops 6,” which is currently set to release on October 25th. The details of this leak were then verified by another industry insider, Tom Henderson. In a report forInsider Gaming, Henderson claimed that Verdansk “was never actually intended to return to Warzone,” but the overwhelming success of Fortnite OGwas something Activision wanted to replicate.

While there’s still no word from Activision on whether or not Verdansk will ever return, the studio clearly hasn’t forgotten about the map as it’s now gearing up to re-release Superstore as a new point of interest on Warzone’s current Battle Royale map: Urzikstan. Activision has also previously brought back Rebirth Island, the game’s most popular Resurgence map.

So while we’re still waiting for Verdansk to make an official return, yesterday’s news of Superstore’s return is a step in the right direction.
