The 2nd cour of the TV AnimeBleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, titled The Separation, will be airing on TV Tokyo next July, according to a new promotional video on theanime’s official Twitter account.The Bleach anime’s final arc is alreadyconfirmed to have 52 episodes, split over 4 cours or seasons in total. All four cours – 13 episodes each – are set to adapt the events until the end of the manga, from chapter 424-686. The first cour covers the events from the start of the arc until chapter 542, which has the same name as the final episode of the first arc, The Blade is Me. That means the first cour adapted more than half of the original arc, and the rest of the cours might indeed include new material and anime-only battle scenes just like authorTite Kubo has teasedin his previous interview.RELATED:Bleach Episode 12 And 13 Release Date And TimeA running theme in the Bleach series, to put it simply, is the characters having to resolve their inner and spiritual conflicts to unlock their latent powers. Ichigo, the protagonist, discovers that the powers he used throughout the series – and the manifestation of these powers inside him – were not his own powers, but reflections of what he inherited from his father and mother. Ichigo’s growth is revealed in the first cour’s final episode to be not acquiring new powers, but relinquishing his parents' powers and releasing their hold over him, eventually leading him to finally unlock the true form of his blade that reflects his real self, hence “The Blade” is Ichigo himself.
From this point forward, the upcoming cour can be considered the true prologue for the war against the Sternritter (German for Star Knights), and many characters will unlock new powers and forms exclusive to this arc. The original manga originally had many rushed and skipped fights, but having three cours to cover the remaining chapters seems promising for fans who were waiting for a faithful story adaption.
The cour will steam on TV Tokyo in Japan, and internationally onHuluandDisney+.
