Lingxuzi is a strong Yao Guai foe that has a strong moveset which will force beginner players to make the most of the limited tools they have at their disposal, and if you do, you might just make it out alive.
To help you do just that, we have put together a helpful guide to walk you through the fight, and ensure you progress on to even more stressful and intense battles.

How to Prepare For Lingxuzi
As this is very early in the game, there aren’t a tonne of things that you can do to make yourself bigger and stronger. This is mainly because the game wants to throw a strong boss at you as a skill check, ensuring you grasp the game’s mechanics.
However, there are a few things that players can do to make this fight a little less challenging.

Grind For Sparks
Firstly, players can spend timegrinding for Will by killing the fodder enemiesdotted around the area leading up to the Guanyin Temple. This will allow you togather Sparks, which, in turn, allow you to level up your skillsinBlack Myth Wukong.
Good early game choices to go for that will aid you in the Lingxuzi fight are increases to your base Health and Stamina, upgrades that increase the damage and duration of your Immobilisation spell, and upgrades that increases the engage distance of your attacks.

Plus, you can alsounlock the Pillar Stance, as Lingxuzi uses a lot of grounded physical attacks, which can be rendered useless if you master the Pillar Stance’s unique abilities.
Upgrade Your Armor
Then secondly, players can also make themselves more durable in battle by upgrading their armor. If you spend some time grinding for Will in the early areas, you’ll have enough Will to purchase the Yarn neededto buy the complete Pilgrim’s Armor Set.
This is purchased from one of thecheckpoint Shrines within the game located at the Guanyin Temple. If you don’t have enough Will, you should alsoconsider selling your reserves of Tiny Pieces of Gold, as this will likely give you the additional Will you need. This armor gives you a sizable defense boost, so consider purchasing it before taking on the fluffy beast ahead.

For skilled players, there is also the option of taking on theWandering Wightboss, but in the early game, this is a very challenging fight. However, those who manage to beat them will gaintheCat’s Eye BeadsCurio, increasing your critical hit chance.
How To Defeat Lingxuzi
Now onto the fight itself. The key to this battle is touse your Immobilisation spell any chance you get, and in the moments between, you’ll need to analyze your enemy, and time your dodges to perfection.
The battle will begin with Lingxuzi leaping toward you and performing a slash attack. Wait until the last second and then dodge, before getting around the back and lasting some hits of your own. This is also a good time to use your Immobilisation spell to land a few extra hits.

He will use a series of swipe attacks during these opening stages. Just wait for the wind up and dodge just before the point of contact to avoid each attack. The only other attack they may use is a bite attack, but this can be largely avoided if you try not to fight them head on.
Every FromSoftware Soulsborne Game, Ranked
Whether you love Dark Souls or Elden Ring, FromSoftware pioneered the Soulsborne genre, and their games are still the best out there.
After you whittle down their health some, they will take to the rooftops surrounding the arena. All you need to do here is watch intently, and when they gear up for a leap, watch their flight path and dodge as they land. This attack misses quite a lot as the tracking isn’t great, but attempt to dodge the impact regardless.
Lingxuzi also has access to a grab attack that, if caught up in, you will not be able to escape. This will lead to an animation where they toss you in the air and viscerally slam you into the ground.
It doesn’t do much damage, in truth, but it has such an obvious tell where they stretch their paws out wide like they want a big hug. So it’s best not to fall for this one if you can help it.
Other than this, they don’t really have much else to offer. Additional tips would benot to get too greedy after their swipe attacksas they do have a few moves that act as combos that may catch you off guard.
Plus, I would suggesttrying to land as many charged heavy strikes as you canto get through this fight as quickly as possible. If you do this, this big fluffy behemoth will fall.
Rewards For Defeating Lingxuzi
If you manage to defeat Lingxuzi, you’ll gain the following rewards for your efforts:
Alongside these rewards, which players will be given automatically, if you search the immediate area, you will also find a chest containing a reserve ofTiny Piece of Gold. Plus, in the building up ahead, you will also find aCelestial Jade Lotus Pill. An item that will increase your overall HP.
From here you can finally exit the Forest of Wolves and move onto the next steep challengethe beautiful world ofBlack Myth: Wukonghas to offer. The Bamboo Grove.
