Yesterday afternoon,Bethesdaannounced a massive new update forStarfield. Long-awaited features such as city maps and interior ship decorations are just some of the many additions included in patch 1.11.33. While the update won’t be released officially until May 15th, it is available to test out in Steam Beta right now.

In thereveal video, Art Director Istvan Pely discussed the new city maps included in the update, saying, “We took what’s there, blew it all up, and now we have a whole new aesthetic to surface maps where you’re able to see the terrain, all the details in the terrain, trees, rocks.” Pely also said that maps were now “a lot easier to navigate” as players can now see markers for all of the shops in a city.

Another notable change included in the update is brand-new gameplay options that will allow users to play how they want to play. Vendor credit capacity, carry weight, and new difficulty options are just some of the new settings players will be able to tweak to their liking.

“Depending on how you play, you can actually tune space combat to be more difficult, or gun combat less difficult, It’s really up to you. And depending on how you balance them, it’ll change how you get XP,” Joe Mueller, Starfield’s Lead Producer said.

While there are a ton of new features, fixes, and quality-of-life improvements included in Starfield’s newest update, the biggest update comes to the game’s city maps, and players just can’t get enough of them.

If you’re one of the lucky ones with the ability to check out Starfield’s new update before its official release later this month, you’ve already had a sneak peek at the new city maps and quality-of-life improvements. After jumping into the update yesterday afternoon, players took to Reddit to express their enthusiasm for the new features.

Ashort clip by Reddit user Cratoichas garnered over 3,000 upvotes on the Starfield subreddit, as the user stated that the maps were “pretty fantastic to use.” Other users chimed in, with one saying that it’s “so nice to really see what New Atlantis actually looks like.”

In aseparate post, Reddit user Isunova said “Bethesda cooked with this update.” They then went on to explain, “I’m one of those people that thought the premium edition at launch, played Starfield for about 40 hours, and then never touched it again. That was back in September. With this update, I’m ready to start a new game and dive back in.”

While these are all features that should have been included in the game at launch, there’s no denying that players are absolutely loving Starfield’s new update.
