After reports of false bans began circulating on X (formerly Twitter), anActivisionrepresentativetold Warzone Metathat there are “no false permanent bans” onCall of Duty: Warzone. While this doesn’t mean false temporary bans aren’t possible, anyone who has been permanently banned has been for good reason, according to Activision.
Content creator and Twitch streamer Bams is just one of the many individuals who claim to have been falsely banned on Call of Duty: Warzone, which also carries over to other titles such asCall of Duty: Modern Warfare IIandModern Warfare III. After Activision confirmed earlier this week that it had banned over 27,000 accounts over the weekend (as reportedvia CharlieIntel), various players claimed to have been falsely banned.

Warzone Players Are Being Mocked For “Stacking,” Even Though It’s How You’re Supposed To Play
It’s time to stop getting angry at people for playing a team-based mode correctly.
Call of Dutyunveiled its Ricochet Anti-Cheatsystem all the way back in 2021 with the launch of Warzone Pacific, and has gone on to implement the anti-cheat in every Call of Duty title since. Activision says Ricochet is a “robust anti-cheat system supported by a team of dedicated professionals focused on fighting unfair play.”

“The RICOCHET Anti-Cheat initiative is a multi-faceted approach to combat cheating, featuring server-side tools which monitor analytics to identify cheating, enhanced investigation processes to stamp out cheaters, updates to strengthen account security, and more.”
Activision Calls Out Players Claiming False Perma Bans
Whilst streaming over the weekend, Call of Duty content creator Bams was hit with a permanent ban. After attempting to load into a new game, Bams was greeted with an error message reading, “You have been permanently banned from playing on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III servers.”
The streamer claims that the ban is incorrect, andtold Jake Luckythat the ban was likely due to being “stuck in a shadowban loop with low trust score for a while.”

But it’s not just streamers that claim to be receiving false bans. Everyday Call of Duty players have also reported receiving false permanent bans. “Brother, I’m a damn console guy, I never used anything illegal or anything and they come to me with this shit?,“X user EazyyW saidin response to Activision’s statement, along with a screenshot of his perma ban.
Thomas Johnson claims that one of his friends was also permanently banned earlier this week. “He plays on console, has a .76 kd. No cronus or cheats. Doesn’t understand why?,“the user said.

However, in a statement to Warzone Meta, an Activision representative claims it’s simply not possible to receive a false permanent ban. The full statement from Activision’s representative can be found below:
“If you see a permanent ban, those are given with the most serious considerations and after significant research. It doesn’t matter what excuses people give, there are no false permanent bans”
If you have been banned, whether it’s temporary or permanent, and you believe that it is a genuine mistake, you canappeal the decision on Activision’s website. But by the sounds of it, Activision is sticking to their guns on any perma bans.
