8 years ago, the world was introduced to a gangster side of Rihanna in her most celebrated party song titledBBHMM.The acronym that stands for“B**ch Better Have My Money”is an age-restricted song as the video features intense scenes of torture and nudity.

Although it is the most celebrated party song of Rihanna, the singer was accused of being a misogynist with her song. The song was deemed immoral and the intense torture scenes were deemed unnecessary however, there may be a completely different story to the song!

The video starts with a blonde rich woman walking to the lift with her dog. What follows is a 7-minute torture video filled with nudity as the rich woman gets kidnapped by Rihanna and is tortured because her husband (played by Mads Mikkelsen) was her accountant.

The video is quite chaotic but majorly it was praised for the cinematography and visuals. Although people might find the video exciting and enthralling, a report byThe Guardianstates that the song was 7 minutes of misogyny. Citing that the female-on-female torture was a promoter of violence and more specifically violence against women.

The plot of the song was also deemed as idiotic since the main villain was Mads Mikkelsen as the accountant but there was no need to involve the rich blonde woman for the storyline. The report further stated thatBBHMMwas just a“woman-hating, sub-snuff video”.A different report alleges thatRihanna’svideo was actually inspired by her real-life accountant whom the singer sued in 2012 for giving out terrible advice!

“In 2009, Ms. Fenty was ‘running out of cash’ and Mr. Gounis knew this. Ms. Fenty’s accounts were so diminished that requested wire transfers would not go through. In fact, Ms. Fenty was effectively bankrupt at the end of 2009.”
