Baldur’s Gate 3: Chapter 2 Checklist (Things You Don’t Want To Miss In Act 2)
Baldur’s Gate 3 has a ton of secrets. Here’s everything you don’t want to miss in Act 2.
One boss battle you may have trouble with is the one withKetheric Thorm. This battle has three phases and acts as the final battle before Act 3. Here’s a guide to help you out if you’re having trouble with the Champion of Myrkul.

Baldur’s Gate 3
Phase 1 - General Ketheric Thorm
Once you finally find theNightsongand make Ketheric Thorm mortal again, you can travel toMoonrise Towersand take him on.He will be located on the rooftop, and you will need to fight the entirety of his cult before reaching him. If you save Aylin, she will be extremely helpful during the fight as Ketheric will focus on her.Once the battle starts, you will be faced with multiple opponents.
Your best bet is to have your ranged attacker with AoE spells go after the Necromites while your highest DPS goes after Susdera first.Aylin will deal with Ketheric while this is happening. After taking out Susdera, you can focus your attention on Ketheric while the AoE spells go toward the Necromites.During this fight, Ketheric has no weaknesses or resistances, so you can focus on using whatever does the most damage.

The one thing you want to be careful of while fighting Ketheric is that he can use the spell “Deadly Orders.“This will cause any of his remaining allies to attack a specific target. While you will probably have a good portion of his followers taken care of at this point, you will still want to be careful. Once you get his health down, he will retreat into a Mind Flayer Colony, explaining how so many Cultists of the Absolute are in Moonrise Towers.
At this moment, you can recruitJaheirapermanently (given she is still alive). If you have space in your party, she will join you. Otherwise, she will stay on the surface with her Harpers and clean things up while you’re gone.

You’re going to want at least one AoE range attacker (but two would be better), one DPS who can also act as a tank, and one DPS. You may also want to be level 7 or 8 before taking this battle on.
Phase 2 - Champion of Myrkul
Once you finally reach Ketheric in the Mind Flayer Colony, you will learn that he is actually the Champion of Myrkul, and is working with two others to control an Elder Brain. After learning this, you will make yourself known and begin the battle against him.
In this fight, there are some pretty powerful opponents.
If you letIsobel get captured or die, she will be anenemy here too. You will want to focus on her and Aylin first.
Saving Aylin
To start with, if you have saved Aylin, you need to free her as soon as you’re able to. Ketheric cannot take any damage at all until she is free. You will want to pick the fastest character to go rescue Aylin while everyone else stays and fights. To make rescuing her easier, you will want to use spells like Misty Step, Teleport, or Longstrider. Once you reach her, you can free her, and she will join the fight, allowing you to attack Ketheric.
Defeating Other Enemies
While someone is saving Aylin, you will want the rest of your party to focus on destroying Ketheric’s minions. The Necromites are extremely easy to kill, but Ketheric will continuously summon more, meaning you need to stay on top of them. You will also want to ensure that someone takes care of the Mind Flayer during this section of the fight. Once Aylin is free, you can focus on attacking Ketheric while leaving an AoE attacker for the Necromites.
verify you take out the Mind Flayerbeforereleasing Aylin. He can cast Dominate Person on her, meaning she will attack you instead of Ketheric.

Fighting Ketheric
Once Aylin is free and most of the others are taken care of, you can send your highest DPS to Ketheric. You will want to make sure that Aylin stays up during this fight, as she is your best asset. Other than that, this fight works identically to the first phase’s Ketheric.
Baldur’s Gate 3: How To Get Wyll To Break His Pact & Save His Father
Wyll has a tragic backstory in Baldur’s Gate 3. Here is how you may save him by breaking his pact and saving his dad.
Phase 3 - Apostle of Myrkul
Once you kill Ketheric, he isn’t actually dead. He will return as the Apostle of Myrkul, the true horror of this fight. At this phase, you are going to want Radiant Damage, as it is what can truly do some decent damage to this abomination. However, he does have resistance to Necrotic, Cold, and Poison Damage.
Central Platform
Fortunately, during the fight, Ketheric stays in the center of the central platform. Unfortunately, anyone who gets on that platform will become Bone Chilled and cannot be healed. This means that you will want to get on the platform, attack, and get off. As long as you aren’t standing on the platform, you’re able to be healed.
Necromites
Just like other phases of the battle, this Ketheric can summon Necromites as well. You will want to take them out quickly and use their platforms as places to perch your ranged attackers. If you attack him without being on a platform, you will have a disadvantage.
Finger Of Death
The worst attack that the Apostle of Myrkul can do is called the Finger of Death. This is where he will devour a Necromite and can do up to 7d8+30 Necrotic Damage. However, if you defeat him in time, you won’t have to deal with this attack at all (and you’ll get a trophy). Unfortunately, if a character dies via this attack, they will become a zombie and fight against your team.
Finishing The Fight
Focus on getting some strong melee attacks out while keeping your ranged attackers far out of his reach. If Aylin is with you, ensure that she is always up and fighting, she will do a lot of damage for you. After you get him down enough, Ketheric will finally die, and you’re able to move on to Act 3.
