If you’ve seenRebellion’ssingle-player action game Atomfall, you might see a few things there that might remind you of Bethesda’sFalloutfranchise.
While they are both set in an alternate history involving nuclear disasters, the game length seems somewhat similar as well.

Atomfall Interview: Rebellion’s Ben Fisher Talks Wyndham, Fallout Comparisons & More
Atomfall is shaping up to be a nuclear-fuelled spectacle, and we stay down with Ben Fisher to find out more about this amazing prospect.
Rebellion Is Aware Of Atomfall Fallout Comparisons
Speaking toIGN, Rebellon acknowledged the Fallout comparisons and even anticipated it when the game was revealed.
Art Director Ryan Greene at Rebellion states, “Once you play the game, you realize it’s not Fallout, but yes, we knew. And one of our owners, Jason Kingsley, he’s a big Fallout fan, so inevitably there was going to be some parallels in that any kind of survival in the apocalypse, immediately Fallout’s going to come up as a thing. And those guys are great at what they do. And that’s cool.”

The game’s length is somewhat similar to the story length of the latest mainline Fallout game,Fallout 4. According to Greene, “it’s probably 25-ish hours,” though completionists can stretch that length “a long way.”
For reference, Fallout 4 took around 27 hours to complete, though that can be stretched considerably (even up to 100 hours) if you tackle the insane amount of side quests in the game.

Why The Original Fallout Didn’t Get A Happy Ending According To Game Creator Tim Cain
The creator of Fallout, Tim Cain, initially proposed a much happier ending, which was scrapped for the more depressing one we ultimately got.
Given Rebellion isn’t anywhere near the size of Bethesda, who’s owned by one of the biggest companies in the world in Microsoft, don’t expect Atomfall to be as big as the Fallout games either.

Greene adds, “The reality is, here’s this very successful franchise and we’re version 1.0. To be compared to those guys… thank you very much… Yes, we appreciate it because that’s a skillful team that’s making that stuff.”
If you’ve never heard of Atomfall, it’s from the developers of the Sniper Elite franchise, though this time, it’s an action game that looks to stretch the studio’s legs when it comes to a single-player narrative.
We even gotsome early hands-on time with it earlier this monthwhere we said, “In the end, I walked away from what precious little I got to experience of Atomfall, and I had a feeling that I rarely have come over me. I desperately wanted to play this title again, and the wait has been nothing short of agonizing.”
Atomfall will be released this March 27 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
