WhileAstro Botmight not have the same visual punch as other first-party PlayStation games like God of War Ragnarok or Horizon Forbidden West, it’s a game that still manages to tap the PS5’s maximum potential in terms of processing power.
Astro Bot’s graphics are cartoonish, so some gamers might not notice the game’s visual effects or the many items it can feature on the screen at once without sacrificing performance.

Astro Bot wins multiple awards at the New York Game Awards, and that includes the Game of the Year.
Astro Bot Was Being Optmized By Team Asobi Until The Very End
Speaking to Japanese gaming publicationFamitsu, Senior Gameplay Programmer Takumi Yoshida discussed the game’s development.
“We used the PS5’s processing power to its very limit, and besides the many jewels on screen, what is also impressive is the depiction of water. The part where you get the sponge power-up and splash water around was really hard because the frame rate wasn’t stable. We kept optimizing it right up until the very end,” claims the developer (translated viaGenki).

When asked about the intent of Team Asobi in including a large selection of bots in the game, Yoshida added, “I have felt the fun of fluttering a lot of characters since the demo, and this time I was able to realize it with the performance of PS5 and the PS 30th anniversary and I was able to use various characters, so I put a lot of them.”
More bots are being added the past few weeks, as Team Asobi is rolling out weekly content updates for Astro Bot free of charge that adds new levels and new bots to rescue.
