How Romance Works
Unfortunately, the romance options are pretty limited, but there are still four options for both protagonists, which allows you to have a wide array of options. Sometimes,you may meet a potential partner during a main quest, and other times, you may find them while doing side questsaround Japan.
When you’re speaking to one of the characters who is interested in pursuing a relationship with your protagonist, you will see a heart by some of the dialogue options (like the one shown above). If you see this option, you will want to select it to flirt with the character.

Additionally, you may have some characters that require your help by completing some quests or reaching a certain part in the main storyline. Once done, if you flirted enough, you may romance them.
If you are playing in Canon Mode, you will beunable to romance anyone.

How To Romance Gennojo
You will first meet Gennojo during the quest “Missing Missive.” From there, flirt with him during the following quests:
Once you finish flirting in “Stolen Hearts,” you will get a romance scenewith him.
How To Romance Katsuhime
Naoe first meets Katsuhime during the quest “Showdown in Sakamoto.” These are the quests you can flirt with her in:
After flirting with her in “The Jounin Pillow Book,” you can romance her.
How To Romance Koshiro
Koshiro can be met during the quest “Brothers in Arms.” Naoe can then comfort him and flirt during the following quest:
After selecting all the romance options during this scene,Naoe will comfort Koshiro due to his injury and will then have a romance with him.
How To Romance Mayu
Mayu’s romance is the shortest for Naoe. She can be met during her personal quest, “Mayu’s Offering.” If you select the flirting options during her quest, you can romance her at the end.

Hori Hidemasa is another really short romance option.
During the quest “The Betrayers,“if you tell Hori that meeting him was your reward, you will be treated to a brief romance scene.
How To Romance Lady Oichi
Lady Oichi’s romance isn’t a true romance due to the differences in statusbetween her and Yakuse. She can be met during the quest “An Education.”
How To Romance Ibuki
During the quest “Ambush Interrupted,” Ibuki can be met. Here are the quests where you’re able to flirt with him:
