Embark Looks To Be Preparing ARC Raiders' Release
Over on Twitter/X, userScrappyhas mentioned the ARC Raiders download is available on Xbox via the Xbox app. Users can now install a small file that’s likely a placeholder for a preload that’s set to be released soon.
People in the ARC Raiderscommunityhave said that this preload file is not available on PS5 for now.
While this won’t load players load the game (and the servers are offline too), this is a good indicator that development is going along well, and we should be getting an announcement soon. Chances are high that the release date announcement will be held at Summer Game Fest, which kicks off on June 6 (next week!), with the first day set to unleash a load of announcements and reveals.
Given the state of the alpha test, I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a shadowdrop of the game on the same day as it’s release date is announced, which should make the game’s community very happy.
If you’re unfamiliar with ARC Raiders, it’s an extraction shooter made by the studio that developed the hit free-to-play game The Finals. While ARC Raiders won’t be a F2P experience, it won’t be priced as a full premium game either, lowering the barrier of entry for most.
Our preview of itspoke highly of the third-person shooter, stating, “ARC Raiders has everything it needs to prove that extraction shooters aren’t all repetitive Escape From Tarkov clones. The only thing that’s left is for Embark to get it out there and make it clear that its long-term business model aligns with what the player base wants.”
ARC Raiders is confirmed to be hitting the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC sometime this year, and don’t be surprised if it’s available very soon.
