TheStar Warsuniverse is filled with several mysteries thanks to the mystical nature of the Force that binds all life in the galaxy far, far away together. Anakin Skywalker is integral to the story of the franchise and his connection to Force has been a much-debated topic ever since the character was first introduced in the Darth Vader persona.

Despite his eventual redemption and return to the light side, some fans claim that Anakin did not deserve to return as a Force Ghost. Haters of Anakin have been pretty vocal about his crimes against the galaxy in the prequels era, arguing that he should not have the ability, which we have mostly seen harnessed by the more noble characters. However, a newStar Warstheory proves exactly why the haters are wrong.
Star WarsFans Claim Anakin Skywalker Doesn’t Deserve Force Ghost Ability
Anakin Skywalker, played by actorHayden Christensen, in the prequel trilogy, was a young Jedi who was seduced by the dark side and became the Sith Lord Darth Vader. During his turn to the dark side, Anakin committed several atrocities, including the cold-blooded murder of several Jedi younglings, and continued the trend in his Sith days.
Because of Anakin’s murderous past, some fans who despise the character, have argued that he does not deserve the ability to return as aForce Ghost. However, after returning to the light side and redeeming himself, Anakin returns as a Force Ghost in the final moments ofReturn of the Jedi.

The Force Ghost ability was canonically first referenced when Obi-Wan returned from the dead to guide Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). Over the years, the lore of theStar Warsuniverse has been significantly expanded, allowing for arguments to be made regarding the nature of the Force abilities, especially which Force-sensitive individuals can return as Force Ghosts.
Star WarsTheory Proves Why Anakin Skywalker Haters Are Wrong About Force Ghost Ability
Despite hate from fans, Anakin’s return as a Force Ghost makes complete sense. According to a theory shared by a fan onInstagram, the Force ability does not have anything to do with the crimes committed by an individual. The theory argues that Luke also killed millions when he destroyed the Death Star. As a result, Luke should be equally unworthy of returning in a corporeal form.
Theoretically, the process of transformation into a Force Ghost has never been explicitly explained in the franchise. However, it is hinted that a Jedi can learn the ability after their demise, as evidenced by Yoda’s words about Qui-Gon Jin (Liam Neeson) inRevenge of the Sith. However, since the Force is believed to be sentient, it likely has a say in who gets to use the ability.

Star Wars Fans Should Not Give Up Hope on Seeing Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker Again
Anakin’s connection to the Force was extremely strong and he restored balance to the Force, with his sacrifice to defeat the Emperor. As a result, Anakin achieved redemption since his actions were in favor of protecting the galaxy.
Other Jedi who have achieved the ability to return as spirits through the Force have similarly contributed to the welfare of the galaxy. Therefore, when it comes to moral judgment, the Force likely deemed Anakin worthy, granting him a return as a Force Ghost.
