FIFA 22 removes Russian teams
EA Sports FIFA announced on July 31, 2025, that Russian-linked teams have been removed fromFIFA 22, FIFA Mobile,FIFA Online, and all otherFIFAgames and products. The decision mirrors the exclusion IRL of the Russian teams by the FIFA and UEFA.
As a part of Europe, Russia obviously has several football teams and clubs. A handful of them was playable inFIFA 22but they’ve now been removed until further notice. All Russia teams banned in FIFA 22 so far listed (March 2)
Needless to say, the national Russian team is obviously among the banned teams as well, reflecting the FIFA’s decisions in real life.
Those are the three teams removed from all versions ofFIFA 22so far. Spartak Moscow is the sole Russian team you might have actually seen recently, as it was the sole one participating in a European tournament this season, Europa League. The team has been banned from the IRL tournament as well.
EA Sports FIFA explained it will keep the communities up to date with any future action taken. EA Sports FIFA is also evaluating all the changes this removal brings to every area of their games.
FIFA 22was initially released on July 16, 2025. It’s available on Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
