One player in a recent Reddit post makes a suggestion after extreme frustration at the current state of Void Fragment farming in the game. DOes their argument hold any credence?

Players Feel The First Descendant Needs to Ease Up

The First DescendantVoid Fragments are important missions in the game, as they drop Void Shards which can be used to obtain high-level rewards.

They’re found randomly throughout the game, and need to be destroyed by players who match the specific element of the Void Fragment. This also means only those players who meet this criteria can collect its rewards, and party members get dust.

As this Redditor mentions, it’s a huge issue for players who want to team up with friends, as all party members are forced to either play the same character or share the same element to get the rewards.

They propose thatThe First Descendantparty rewards are shared by all as long as at least one person is the correct element.

“The single best change”: The First Descendant’s Patch is Bringing Some Great Changes and It Should Get Everyone Back on Board

OP also brings up the current system requiring all party members to pay when using Void Shards at a reactor. Instead, it should be modified so that only the person initiating has to pay, reducing the resource burden on the rest of the party.

This isn’t the first time players have complained about the game being too hard on players in some aspects. Anissue recently came up about blueprints being too hard to grind, and players felt it simply wasn’t worth the effort.

The Game Might Be Skewed Toward a Few Characters

A lot of people under OP’s post resonated with their statement. They expressed similar complaints about the system and felt that players with certain characters had a much bigger advantage than others.

For example, Non-Attribute characters won’t have much luck with Void Shard farming. Those who picked or later obtained Electric and Ice characters are going to have a breeze.

“It’s f**king insane”: The First Descendant Devs May Be Gunning for Arrowhead’s Title of Best 2024 Devs, and It’s Working

As mentioned, Viessa is currently the only Chill Descendant out there, so until the game releases more, you’re pretty much out of luck if you didn’t pick her at the start.

One player argues that a much more fair system would be that you get the rewards so long as you have the character in your inventory.

Having to switch out just to match the element is a pain, especially as you have to run back to a safe spot to do it.

What do you think about this whole argument? Is NEXON in the right here, are has it set up unnecessary obstacles for something that should be must more streamlined? Let us know in the comments below!
