TheHelldivers 2community breathed a collective sigh of relief when it was finally announced that Sony would be backing down from forcefully implementing PSN account linking to Steam.
However, there’s still a major issue that has not been solved, and people are starting to take notice. Thankfully, it’s not gone past Arrowhead’s purview, and everyone’s favorite superhero, Pilestedt, is on the job.
Helldivers 2 Is Still Delisted in 177 Countries
When Sony and Arrowhead announced thatHelldivers 2players would have to link their Steam accounts to their PSN IDs to play the game, there was a massive uproar.
People were speaking against it on X/Twitter, getting the game refunded, and leaving negative reviews on the game’s Steam store page as a way to get their voice heard.
One of the biggest reasons this was an issue for many was that PSN isn’t available in many countries. You can still make an ID while setting the account to another country, and some players reported that PlayStation support would even tell you the same.

However, PlayStation’s ToS implies that they have the right to “suspend, terminate or restrict any Account” created with false information.
During the war between Sony and theHelldivers 2community, the company had Steam delist the game from 177 countries that PSN doesn’t serve to avoid further problems. The game continues to be delisted in these countriesdespite Sony backing down from enforcing the policy.
Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt Promises That a Fix Is on the Way
People are noticing that the game is still gone in these countries. The game’s official Discord channel has been filled with questions from people wondering whenHelldivers 2will be available for purchase againin the delisted countries.

Pilestedt replied, saying that there’s still no update, unfortunately, but he’s still in conversation with his partners at PlayStation and Valve to get the game listed again. And then he leaves us with a very superhero-coded line:

Getting the account linking took a herculean effort – but I won’t rest in my desire to have it available everywhere.
Truthfully, PlayStation attempting to enforce such a policy when PSN IDs aren’t available in most countries is a very odd oversight on their part.

Though making IDs in other countries does violate ToS, many PlayStation users have shared that they’ve been doing the same for years with no issue. It’s not just players in the Philippines, Egypt, or other countries technically “breaking” ToS this way.
