A player on Reddit has suggested that the game should allow players to put bayonets on primary weapons. This way, the gun can be used as an improvised spear in close combat situations. If this attachment is added to the game, it will make the SG-225 Breaker Shotgun an absolute powerhouse on the battlefield as it is already the best weapon against Terminids.

A bayonet is a deadly weapon attachment and many first-person and third-person shooter games allow players to put this attachment on their weapons, however,Helldivers 2still doesn’t have anything like this. In fact,Helldivers 2still doesn’t have any melee weapons, so a bayonet is probably a good starting point. The idea comes from a player on Reddit and it’s safe to say that the community supports this.

Roughly two months ago, Arrowhead Game Studios’ CEO, Shams Jorjani, acknowledged the idea of adding bayonets to the game onReddit, so players should expect to see something like this very soon.
There are rumors that Arrowhead is planning to add a weapon called R-63CS Diligence Counter Sniper with a Bayonet in the upcoming Liberty Day Update, which is rumored to roll out on 26th October 2024.
The Bayonet Attachment Is Perfect For Breaker Shotgun
As stated above, leaks claim that a Bayonet is coming to the game, however, it looks like it will not be an attachment. It seems like this weapon will be the only gun in the game with a bayonet. If Arrowhead actually considers this idea, it needs to release an SG-225 Breaker Shotgun with this attachment.

Right now, the Breaker Shotgun isone of the best weaponsin the games to deal with Terminids. Thanks to its exceptional fire rate, the gun absolutely rips through hordes of enemies at close range as well as mid-range. With a bayonet, close-range combat with Terminids will become much easier.
The Breaker Shotgun was improved in the 1.001.100 patch, which also improved many other weapons and Stratagems in the game. Arrowhead’s new strategy is working as focusing on players’ feedback has revived the game’s hype.
