Core Keeperis an incredible mining sandbox adventure game with an excellent method of tracking progress.

A host of formidable bosses lurks underground, and while they are tough, they often allow you to venture further away from the Core if you beat them.

6Ghorm the Devourer

Easy When You Know How

Key Information

Clay Caves

Summoning Item

Lots of Spike Traps!

I’m picking Ghorm to start this list because while he’s not too difficult in the grand scheme of things,he can be unstoppableif you don’t know what to do.

Ghorm the Devourer is a giant bug that runs a never-ending circle around the Core. Fortunately, it won’t attack until you do, but it cancrush and overwhelm you if you’re unprepared.

You must rely on your pickaxe to dig through walls, while Ghorm can effortlessly power through them to turn you into a paste.

The boss isinsurmountable without a plan. You can make quick work of this behemoth by placing 250-ish Spike Traps in its path. Unless you know about this, the encounter is an uphill struggle.

Necesse and Palworld Split

It’s also possible to miss the first intended boss (Glurch) and end up massively under-geared on Ghorm’s doorstep.

5Malugaz the Corrupted

The First Big Wall

Forgotten Ruins

Skull of the Corrupted Shaman

Malugaz is the third boss inCore Keeper, and the world dramatically expands when you take him down. The issue is this guy won’t go down without a fight.

You battle Malugaz in a small stone arena as he roams the area, dousing the ground in flames. Fire damage really hurts, so this is the first battle that demands a decent arsenal of armor and weapons.

Potions will helpmassively, and the encounter teaches the value of good preparation and ahearty meal.

The funniest thing about Malugaz is he hastwo health bars. The boss becomes far more aggressive in his second phase, so you must attempt to avoid the fire AND a hulking foe trying to rush you down.

You’ll be fine if you keep your distance, but the Malugaz fight is a rite of passage.

Malugaz the Corrupted was an optional boss during Early Access and could be avoided entirely. Now that he’s a mandatory encounter, he’s out for blood.

4Azeos the Sky Titan

Death From Above

Azeos' Wilderness

Large Shiny Glimmering Object

Azeos the Sky Titan is an absolute menace and overwhelms players with dangerous attacks and frustrating abilities, like regenerative health.

you’re able to’t expect a winged opponent to fight fair, and Azeos loves the deck stacked in its favor. Azeos can attack withblue laser beams, which really sting if you get hit. Fortunately, this attack has a pattern, but good luck figuring it out on your first try!

Azeos’s attacks are dangerous, but the worst is still to come. The boss can spawnblue crystals that replenish its health, which can only be damaged with a Pickaxe. It’s a real pain to keep swapping weapons when you’re under attack, and it’s disheartening watching your hard work being undone.

The crystals canspawn in unreachable locations, so be sure to block up any gaps in the arena before you fight.

Azeos the Sky Titan lives up to its grandiose title, and you will want at least full Scarlet gear before taking on the challenge.

3Ra-Akar the Sand Titan

It’s Course, Rough, And Irritating

Desert of Beginnings

Core Keeper sure has a thing for bugs, and Ra-Akar the Sand Titan is one of the toughest in the game.

You can spawn Ra-Akar in the Desert of Beginnings and it means business from the moment you wake it up. Ra-Akar canburrow in the sand to become invincible, but your biggest worry should be its attacks.

The boss can throw streams of homing projectiles, which are a constant annoyance as they closely follow your movements. Even if your dodging is on point, Ra-Akar can summonreinforcements that rush youand will explode if you let them get too close.

You also have several sand whirlpools to avoid, making this a particularly mobile encounter.Ranged weapons are the way to go, as the boss’s spikey hide does a ton of contact damage.

Ra-Akar is a brute but nowhere near as obnoxious as its aquatic brethren, which brings us nicely to our next entry.

2Omoroth the Sea Titan

An Aquatic Nightmare

Sunkern Sea

Expert Lure

Recommend Gear Level

I’m not ashamed to admit it; Omoroth has kicked my ass more than any other encounter in the game.

You can only fight Omoroth in the Sunkern Sea, which puts you at amassive disadvantage. Do you fight from a small boat or assemble awkward platforms in the sea and hope for the best? Neither option is attractive, so pick your poison.

Omoroth has a devastating array of attacks. The monster can summon damaging tornadoes, which are pretty tough to avoid with your restricted movement options.

Thetentacle spam is arguably much worse. Omoroth loves to summon tentacles in the water, and while they are limited to melee attacks, they hit like a train and can punch holes in the toughest armor.

If left unchecked, you can be trapped between hordes of tentacles and tornadoes, and it’s such a miserable way to meet your demise.

To top everything off, it’s a pain even to get Omoroth to appear in the first place. You require anExpert Lure, which requires a shopping list of materials to craft. If you fail the encounter, Omoroth won’t stick around for you to regroup, and you’ll need another Lure to try again.

1Core Commander

Between You And The Credits

All six Titan Souls

The Core Commander is the mainfinal boss of the gameand is a ruthless opponent who will put your skills to the ultimate test.

For starters, the Core Commander battle has multiple phases, each with new and intricate attack patterns to avoid. The boss loves to summoncircles of lightningaround you, which only have one small gap you must quickly dodge through.

There are several other lightning attacks to worry about, which all require fast movement to avoid. Lightning is often combined withpurple tornadoes, making the arena much tougher to traverse and a real pain when you’re trying to deal damage.

Once you’ve toppled the boss for the first time, it becomes theUnleashed Core Commanderwith a scary attack that turns the Desert arena pitch black. A few safe spots remain, and you must reach them pronto because your health will quickly deplete if you stay in the darkness for too long.

The encounter is busy and chaotic, but it is a satisfying conclusion to theCore Keeperstory. You need all six Titan souls to challenge the boss, so give it hell!

The Core Commander is the last mandatory boss for now, but consideringhow well the game performed for its 1.0 launch, who knows what will happen in the future?
