Ciroc Vodka and DeLeon Tequila
P Diddy’s venture into the world of wines and spirits began with Ciroc Vodka. As the brand entered a decline, Combs entered into a deal with Diageo PLC, a company based in London, England.
This brought the rapper great success in the world of alcoholic beverages as well. Eventually, Diageo, a proud owner of 200+ brands acquired DeLeon Tequila with Diddy. However, this business relationship ran stale after a point.
Diddy issued a lawsuit claiming that his brands were treated unfairly because he was black (viaForbes). He also claimed that Diageo didn’t promote or market his alcohol as much as his competitors were being pushed at the time.
The two eventually parted ways after Diageo claimed that Diddy’s accusations were of “bad faith” and reversed the lawsuit onto Diddy saying the rapper failed to keep up with his investment promises.
